27 weeks (a little late..)

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along? 27 weeks and 4 days

Baby's size? I'm going to skip this unless I've got an update from an ultrasound. Since she's consistently measuring small, I'd rather not post the "estimates."

Gender? Still a baby GIRL!!

Weight Gain? I haven't been on the scale since 26 weeks, and won't be back on the scale until around 29 weeks. :)

Maternity clothes? Still a mixture of maternity and regular

Stretch marks? Nope

Belly button in or out? Still in, but slowly getting more shallow

Sleeping? Pretty decent. I wake up several times, but almost always fall back asleep

Foods I'm loving? Chick-fil-a, On the Border, Port Wine cheese with wheat thins

Foods I'm hating? None for now

Movement? Yes!

Best moment this week? Heading to my parents house early and then Alan getting here on Saturday with my two fur babies.

Symptoms? Heartburn, frequent potty breaks, and the occasional nausea after I eat too much (she's crowding my stomach and therefore I eat small, frequent meals)

What I miss? Nothing really, unless you count sleeping on my stomach

What I'm looking forward to? Christmas time!! I love to watch other people open up presents!!

Weekly Wisdom: nothing new on this front...

Milestones: I'm in the 3rd trimester!!! And as of today, only 87 days until Elizabeth's due date

Emotions: Nothing crazy here lately, either.

27 weeks at my parents house!

As some of you might know, my sister is an AMAZING artist! In fact, that's what she's going to school for right now. Well, when she got home, she mentioned that she was really wanting to paint, which was awesome, because I was hoping to get her to do the artwork for Elizabeth's room. Needless to say, in the past couple of days, she's done 3 paintings for above Elizabeth's changing table. As soon as she's put the finishing touches on them, I'm going to show them off. I can't believe what a great job she has done!!! She is also going to do a large painting for above the crib. The larger painting most likely won't be done before I leave to head back home, but I can't wait to put it in the room. The inspiration for the large painting was something I saw at Target, which is...

Product Image Oopsy Daisy Too Owl 2 Piece Wall Art (21 x 21")

I know that our bedding doesn't have any owls in it, but I thought it was too cute! Somehow she's going to tie in the flowers on our bedding with the owls. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

Stay tuned for pictures of the first three paintings... gonna keep you in suspense on what they're about. :)

26 weeks and Doctor's Appointment update!

First off, thanks for all the prayers for Elizabeth. I have GREAT news to report!!! She is growing right on track from our last appointment. The doctor just thinks that it is a dating discrepancy, which we knew all along that that was a huge possibility! She still wants to see me every month to continue to monitor Elizabeth's growth, but she doesn't foresee any other complications. We got some great pictures of Elizabeth today, which I'll post at the end of my posting... got to keep everyone interested... haha.

Her toes must taste yummy... We actually got to see her swallowing

Recent Purchases

Today I finally received an order from Amazon.com that I had been waiting to purchase for a long time. You see, Alan didn't want me to spend any money on the second item(s) that I bought, so I had to accumulate quite a few swagbucks to gain enough amazon gift cards.

The first thing I bought was Elizabeth's first Bible. I'd read/heard good things about this particular Bible. I can't wait to read it to (and with) Elizabeth!

The second item(s) that I purchased were 3 cloth diapers! Since I most likely will be staying home with Elizabeth, I'd love to save money any way we can. I've done a ton of research and, including the price of washing/drying the diapers, we would save about $1500-$2000 over the course Elizabeth being in diapers.  Now, I haven't quite convinced Alan of the merit of cloth diapers, but hopefully when he sees how easy they are, he'll change his mind. :) I decided to go with the AIO, or all in one, because they can be worn up until Elizabeth has been potty trained. Keep in mind, however, that we will still be buying SOME regular diapers (pending on the fact that Alan actually goes for cloth diapering), but a majority of the time I'd like to keep her in cloth. Not to mention that they are pretty cute, in my humble opinion. :) So... here they are! I bought FuzziBunz (with snaps) this time, but I'd also like to get some Bum Genius 4.0 (also with snaps). Target actually carries them online, too, which is really nice!

mint, pink, and grape

Well, gotta go get dinner ready! Leftover ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, and rolls tonight! I LOVE not having to cook. :)

Weekend in Review!

This past weekend Alan and I headed to Temple and Salado, TX (only about 15 minutes apart). I forgot my camera... story of my life these days... so I don't have any pictures, but I at least want to some-what document our time away. We headed to Temple Saturday morning to eat lunch with one of my best friends, her husband, and their daughter. It had been several months since I'd seen her, so I wanted to catch up with them. She is also pregnant and due between 4-6 weeks after me. :)

After lunch, Alan and I did some Christmas shopping, since we couldn't check into our hotel just yet. We got his Dad's present, leaving me with only two more presents to purchase!!! I'm so glad to almost be done! Once we checked into the hotel, we just hung out for a while before we headed to Salado to meet some friends from our small group for dinner and some shopping down Salado's Main Street.  We went to the Stagecoach Inn for dinner and I had the BEST chicken friend steak and dessert. They call it Strawberry Kiss, which is some delicious meringue (but so much better than pie meringue! really sweet) topped with vanilla ice cream and strawberries with strawberry sauce. Need I say more? I wish I had gotten a picture of it. I should've just used my phone, but didn't think about it.

Main Street was packed after dinner. There are tons of fun shops to go into and if we go again, I'm going to hold off on Christmas presents until we shop there. I got Elizabeth the cutest pillowcase dress for next Christmas! I can't wait to see her in it!!

I can picture her in this with a cute white or green
shirt and a BIG bow. :)

In other news, like I said earlier, I'm almost done shopping for Christmas! I'm waiting on 5 presents (one of them being my Dad's birthday present) for us to give my family, then I should have several presents for my Dad from both my Mom and MeMaw arriving this week. Once those are here and wrapped, all I have to do is shop for both of my sister-in-laws. I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing for both of them, it's just a matter of getting out to do it. Without further ado, here is a picture of our tree. We still don't have a topper for it, or that many ornaments, but we're slowly working on it!

I'm pretty sure my due date is going to get changed this week, so I'm going to hold off on my weekly update until Thursday. If it is changed, then Thursday will be the start of each new week (and this Thursday would make 26 weeks), which would definitely make updates easier on me. :)

Thanksgiving! (and 25 week update)

I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving! Alan and I spent ours in Texarkana visiting my parents. We ate a ton of good food and had a blast. I didn't bring my camera, so unfortunately, I don't have any pictures. I went out shopping Friday and Saturday, and only have to buy a couple things for Alan's dad and one more thing for my dad! Now it's on to wrapping (which I'm going to do as soon as I'm done with this).

Pregnancy Highlights

24 weeks (almost)

Sorry for the lack of blog posts lately. I just can't motivate myself to  keep up with the blog. It's not like I'm extremely busy or anything, I've got the relaxing job of staying at home until the next school year (where I'll hopefully get a job). Thanks for all the prayers girls! We are truly trusting in God to direct the life of our baby girl and regardless of the outcome, we can't wait until she is here! If any of you know how to respond/reply to comments let me know, because try as I might, I'm still in the dark with that. Now on to the fun stuff...

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along? 23 weeks and 6 days

Baby's size? Last Thursday the ultrasound said she was about 13 ounces, so maybe around a pound?

Weight Gain? 3 pounds

Maternity clothes? A mixture of maternity and regular clothes

Stretch marks? Nope

Belly Button in or out? In, but I'm pretty sure it's getting more shallow

Sleeping? It's gotten better now that I limit my water after 8 pm. I still wake up several times a night, but I always fall right back asleep!

Foods I'm loving? Chick-fil-a, Olive Garden, can't wait to have a juicy burger from TLC over Thanksgiving break!!

Foods I'm hating? Nothing really at the moment

Movement? Yes, and while sometimes it's still soft, I can tell they're getting stronger. Hopefully Alan will be able to feel Elizabeth soon!

Best moment this week? Sleeping better.

Symptoms? Blue veins all over, going to the bathroom ALL the time. And I'm finally over the sickness! I haven't thrown up in about a month! Woo hoo!

Gender? Still a girl!

What I miss? Nothing really. I'm loving being pregnant right now!

What I'm looking forward to? Thanksgiving food! Can't wait for turkey, gravy, dressing, mashed potatoes... Not to mention all of the desserts... Too bad I have the gestational diabetes test the Tuesday after Thanksgiving... haha.

Weekly Wisdom: Limiting water after a certain hour definitely makes the night better! :)

Milestones: According to my due date (but not ultrasounds), viability is next week, but I definitely want to keep her in for a good 16 or so more weeks!!

Emotions: Well, given the circumstances, my emotions over the past week have been up and down. But I can say, for the most part, that they've gotten better as the week has gone on. I have faith that God will prevail and Elizabeth will be born healthy and happy!

Prayers Needed

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of blogging this past week (although we know that this is kinda normal for me...). I was all set to do an update after I had our ultrasound last Thursday, but that ended up not going exactly as planned. We've spent the weekend digesting the information that was presented to us and are highly optimistic, but Alan and I would still covet your prayers for our precious Elizabeth Anne. At this time we are not sure what exactly is going on and the radiologist has now asked me to come in for monthly ultrasounds to measure Elizabeth's growth. They are concerned that her growth is slowing down and they don't know why. I am well aware that babies all develop at different rates, and that my dates could (or are highly likely) to be off due to longer cycles than most people. The doctors don't see any problems with her brain, heart, fluid surrounding her, growth, etc., but she is now measuring 14 days behind as opposed to the 10 days last month. The doctor said that it could A) be nothing or B) be a genetic issue such as Down's Syndrome or something else.

We're going with the first because everything looks good, aside from being a small baby. Elizabeth is doing things that "normal" babies do in the womb and while extremely tiny, she is still on the chart percentile-wise (but in like the 10%). My mom's side of the family has a history of small babies and the women on my mom's side are all very small boned (except for me - I take after my dad's side of the family). Alan and I are trusting God in all this and know that He will not give us anything that we can not handle.

Like I said, any and all prayers would be greatly appreciated and I'll definitely update as we get more information.

21 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along? 21 weeks and 4 days (I would've had this up yesterday, but we had NO internet or TV most of the day)

Baby's size? Elizabeth is the size of a spaghetti squash - 8 inches and 1 pound!!

Weight Gain? 1/2 pound this week!

Maternity clothes? A mixture of the maternity and regular clothes

Stretch marks? Nope

Belly Button in or out? In

Sleeping? Not great at all... I've had a hard time going to sleep this week and wake up constantly. Then it stormed on Monday night and our sweet Gracie decided she was terrified of lightening. Needless to say, since I'm not working, I got dumped with dog duty... haha. It's just preparing me for when Elizabeth gets here!

Foods I am loving? I'm still craving TLC burgers and fries... 3 weeks and then I'll be there!! There is really nothing I absolutely have to have lately, although the chick-fil-a that I ate when Alan was with the guys was pretty yummy!!

Foods I'm hating? Nothing really at the moment.

Movement? Yes, I felt some pretty strong kicks/punches yesterday, too, but Alan was on a conference call with work. :(

Best moment this week? Not getting my due date changed at the doctor... haha.

Symptoms? not sleeping, going to the bathroom ALL the time, blue veins popping up everywhere, but no throwing up in the past 9 days! Woo hoo!!

Gender? Still a girl!

What I miss? Nothing really. I'm loving being pregnant right now!

What I'm looking forward to? Going to the doctor next week for our ultrasound!!! And going to the Renaissance Festival this weekend... I've never been!

Weekly wisdom: Nothing new at the moment.

Milestones: Less than 20 weeks to go!!!

Emotions: Nothing crazy here this week.

I'm going to post two pictures today because I feel like there is a pretty big difference in the past two days. Maybe it's the clothes, maybe it's my imagination... who knows...

21 weeks 2 days

21 weeks 4 days

Anyone notice anything different about the bathroom? =) We changed the shower curtain! The room looks sooo much brighter (there are no windows), and I'm sure it'll look even more so when we Alan gets the walls and ceilings painted the same color as Elizabeth's bedroom!! Now all we need are some cute fun accessories (and to hope and pray our next child is a girl, too... haha). I'll post more pictures as we get the bathroom complete!

Belly Button in or out? In

Sleeping? Sleep last night was great! I only woke up 2 times (3 if you count when Alan woke up... haha)

Foods I am loving? I'd kill for a TLC burger and fries!!! Cherry coke floats with Bluebell ice cream, and eggs and bacon. I'm going to insert a picture here of my favorite eggs of all time. They come from my parents next door neighbor and are so delicious!!

Eggs straight from the chicken coop!! I LOVE all the colors!!!

Foods I'm hating? Nothing really at the moment, although hot dogs still aren't high on my "gotta have" list.

Best moment this week? Totally not baby related, but it'd have to be getting to see my nephew and figuring out what I'm doing for my two sister-in-laws for Christmas!

Nursery and SHOPPING!!

This past weekend was great! Alan and I got to go to Texarkana to see my parents and my sweet sister! I'm so glad she got to come down from OSU the same weekend we were down! Alan and I stay in the guest bedroom now and when we went there to put up our stuff, my parents and sister followed us. I thought it was a little odd, but I really didn't think much of it... until I turned on the light. The bed was covered with the most ADORABLE clothes (and a super cute and soft Taggie blanket) for Elizabeth!! I could bore you with pictures of all the clothes, so I'll just post a couple of my favorite.

Sweet smocked sleeper

Smocked Dress (Adorable!!!)

How cute is this!? (Can you tell my mom LOVES smocked outfits??)

Cute dress for next winter!

On Saturday, mom and I went shopping! We didn't buy much, except for some stocking stuffers for me and Alan (all cute clothes for Elizabeth... haha), but I do HAVE to tell you about my new favorite store in Texarkana. For this gals still living there, it is called Peas and Carrots* and is located in Summerhill Square. We didn't look at any of the boy things, but the girl clothes and accessories were just about some of the cutest I have EVER seen! If I was rich, I would've bought out the whole store. I also found what I want for Elizabeth's going home outfit, but we're just waiting on a new shipment so we can get the right size. I highly recommend stopping in this store if you are pregnant or have a young child!! I will be returning over Thanksgiving to stock up on some more clothes. (*They did not ask me to write this, I just really loved the shop!!!)

When we got back home Sunday evening, Alan decided to paint a fourth (and final) coat on the ceiling of Elizabeth's room. The color the previous owners has the ceilings is kind of a grayish color, that we aren't too fond of, so we're (and by "we're", I mean "Alan") is slowly going to paint the rest of the ceilings white. After that was complete, we moved the dresser into the room and called it a night.

Last night, Alan assembled the crib! I spent the day washing and drying all of the crib accessories in order to be ready to make the bed (I know we still have 5 months... I'm just a little excited!!) The assembly didn't take long, so in order to keep from boring you, I'll just show some pictures. :)

Painting the room last week

This is Alan's "are you really photographing this?" look

Almost done!

Putting in the last screw!!!

 Completed (and moved) bed!!

A closer look at the bedding

Closet full of clothes and some diapers!!

Close up of the clothes

I've organized the clothes by size! And each size has a different color coat hanger (OCD, I know...). My only question, which is a stupid question, is about varying clothing sizes. Some clothes have age ranges (i.e. 0-3 months) and some just have a particular month (3 months). I put the 3 months with the 0-3 months, and so on, but am I doing it right? Haha.

Ok... this post is getting really long so I'm going to cut it off now. I can't believe I've posted twice in two days! It must be a record.

19 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along? 19 weeks and 2 days

Baby's size? Elizabeth is the size of a mango - 6.5 inches and 10 ounces (although in real life she is definitely smaller than this)

Weight Gain? Only down 1/2 pound from prepregnancy weight.

Maternity clothes? Yes in pants, I wear a mixture of maternity and non-maternity tops.

Stretch marks? Nope

Belly button in or out? In

Sleeping? Sleeping is okay. I definitely still have a difficult time falling asleep and am now finding that sometimes when I wake up in the middle of the night I can't fall back asleep for another hour or so... Thank goodness that I still have the luxury of staying home so I can sleep as long as I can.

Foods I am loving? TLC burgers and fries from Texarkana!!! (Especially doused in their Red River Sand... mmm... Mom, I might be coming down again tomorrow. haha)

Foods I am hating? Well, hot dogs are definitely high on the list right now. And I also haven't really liked fast food french fries and the ones you bake in your oven.

Best moment this week? Getting to see Elizabeth and going to Texarkana to see my family and get the crib and dresser.

Movement? I feel little nudges here and there, especially when I'm not moving.

Symptoms? The occasional bout of nausea, still really sleepy, and in the last day or so, I've had quite a bit of heartburn.

Gender? Elizabeth Anne!

What I miss? Nothing, really. I'm loving being pregnant right now!

What I'm looking forward to? Setting up the crib and organizing the closet and dresser (stay tuned for pictures tomorrow!)

Weekly Wisdom: Eat, eat, eat and don't leave the house without water!!!

Milestones: Less than 5 months to go!

Emotions: Nothing crazy here this week!

I don't know what the spots on the pic are...
Maybe I need to clean the lens?

Stay tuned for pictures of the crib, dresser, and closet, not to mention a couple pics of some CUTE clothes and where to shop in Texarkana! Alan is assembling the crib TONIGHT!!! =)

One Stubborn Baby...

Well we had the "big" anatomy scan today! The office was having some technical issues with their computers, so what should've taken about 30-45 minutes ended up taking an hour and fifteen minutes. It wouldn't have been bad if we got to see Elizabeth the entire time, but we only saw her for about 30 minutes or so. And, like the previous two ultrasounds, she didn't want to cooperate very well. She is measuring a little on the small side, which didn't concern the doctor, especially with my crazy cycles (sorry if TMI). The doctor is having me come in again in 4 weeks, though, just to make sure Elizabeth is, indeed, growing normally.

She wouldn't move her hand off her face so we could get a good profile.

17 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along? 17 weeks and 3 days

Baby's size? Elizabeth is the size of a sweet potato - 5.5 inches and 5 ounces

Weight Gain? Still down from prepregnancy weight, but up one from last week (makes it -3)

Maternity clothes? Definitely in pants, I've worn some tops for fun, but it isn't necessary yet. Dresses and everything else still in normal clothes

Stretch marks? Nope

Belly button in or out? In, and I doubt it pops, but I could be wrong.

Sleep? Sleeping is ok. I wake up a lot to either go to the bathroom or change positions. Even though I have a hard time going to sleep, when I wake up, I can go back to sleep almost instantaneously.

Foods I am loving? Honeycrisp apples!! Cookies and cream ice cream.

Foods I am hating? Nothing really, but lately I haven't been liking reheated meat. It has a funny texture that I haven't noticed before, even when it is smothered in cheese, sauce, and noodles like lasagna.

Best moment this week? Shopping for Elizabeth and in a non-pregnancy related thing, seeing the surprise on my Granny's face when she walked into the room for her 80th birthday party

Movement? I would guess that I have been feeling her since last Thursday, but I'm not 100% sure.

Symptoms? The occasional bout of nausea, still really sleepy, going to the bathroom a TON more than normal

Gender? Baby Girl - Elizabeth Anne!!

What I miss? What I miss is nothing in comparison to being pregnant. :)

What I'm looking forward to? Going to Texarkana soon to pick up our crib and dresser!!!

Weekly Wisdom: Never ever leave the house without snacks and water.

Milestone: Past the 4 month mark! Only a little more than 5 months left!!

Emotions: This week has been pretty tame, emotion wise. I read the newest book by my favorite author yesterday and I think I cried buckets... haha

In other news, I attended substitute training for one area school district today! I can start subbing tomorrow, if there is an available position!! Woo hoo for getting out of the house soon (and making money)!

What's in a name?

If you know me in real life, or are friends with me on facebook, you most likely already know the name of our precious baby girl. This ultrasound is the second photo that we have of her, but the first one where she is looking like a baby. :)

She's curled up asleep... didn't want to move AT ALL!

Alan and I spent a lot of time talking about names. I have always wanted to use Biblical names for my babies, but I was having a hard time finding girl names that we both really liked. Then, I remembered that Elizabeth was John the Baptist's mother! I fell in love. So Elizabeth it is. Now on to her middle name. Anne, my sister's middle name. It is perfect! When I looked at their meanings, we both fell even more in love with the name we'd chosen.

Elizabeth means "consecrated to God." What a great meaning for our first born to lean on! And Anne means "full of grace," which is definitely something we want her to possess. So Elizabeth Anne is is!

We are thrilled to announce the name of our firstborn and can't wait to actually introduce her to this blog in about 5 1/2 months!

Stay tuned for my weekly update and some pictures of cute clothes I got over the weekend in San Marcos celebrating my Granny's 80th birthday!!

Life lately!

So a little back story for you... Growing up, I had this friend that I met when I was 3 years old at Ms. Dixie's School of dance. We quickly became great friends and this continued on throughout high school and on into college. She was in my wedding and she was one of the first people I called when we started telling people that we were expecting. Unfortunately for me (and lucky for her), she is ALL the way in Montana working on her PhD right now. I haven't seen her in a while so, Amy G., you'd better be down for Thanksgiving AND Christmas this year! =) Needless to say, I went to my mailbox and I had the biggest surprise today! The CUTEST little outfit for Baby E (name to be announced tomorrow after our gender confirmation ultrasound!). Now, I don't really want to think about college yet... be still my heart... but if she wants to go to Montana State one day, she will have already had an introduction into their school spirit. :)

Thanks so much Amy G (a link to her cute blog)! Can't wait to see it on the little one! I'll be sure and take a picture of her in it and send it to you!

In other news, I had my second appointment with my OB yesterday. It went great! She found Baby E's heartbeat right away and it was in the 150s. Can't wait till tomorrow so we can see her on the screen and confirm that she is, in fact, a girl.

I told myself that I wasn't going to post any pictures of the bedding until we had the room set up, but I can't resist posting the picture from Pot.tery Ba.rn's website. Our crib isn't white, but the scheme of the room is definitely what we're going for. We picked up a sample of yellow paint over the weekend to test (we're notorious for painting a room and then deciding we hate the color, so we decided to play it safe this time), and it matches perfectly! Now we just need to go back and get the full gallon so Alan can get started! Without further ado, here it is...

Daisy Garden Nursery Bedding Set

What do you guys think? And if you hate it, don't tell me, please. Haha.

Stay tuned for the name reveal for Baby E and a potential reveal of a new hairstyle. I'm debating on whether or not to cut my hair... It's been two years since I've had more than a trim and I'm more than ready for a change! I just don't know if I can go through with it.
