35 Weeks with our Little Man

Pregnancy Highlights
35 weeks and 1 day

How far along? 35 weeks and 1 day!

Baby's size? Large Cantaloupe (19-22 inches, 6 pounds)

Gender? It's a boy!!! David Andrew

Weight Gain? +22 lbs...

Maternity clothes? Yup! I can still wear my t-shirts, dresses, and "comfy" pants/shorts, though.

Stretch marks? Yup, but I'm beginning to think that there really aren't any new ones... We'll see... So far I only have them below my belly button ::Knock on wood::

Belly button in or out? 1/2 out, 1/2 flat...

Sleeping? It really depends on the night. Sometimes I'm only up once, sometimes I'm up 3-5 times... I really like the nights I only wake up once! :)

Foods I'm loving? Enchiladas have started sounding super yummy, and I'm normally a fajita girl!

Foods I'm hating? Nothing really! Just don't really like to mess with raw meat, but that also goes for pre-pregnancy, so who knows. ;)

Best moment this week? Finding out that I'm getting another ultrasound at 36 weeks!

Movement? Yup! And sometimes it's painful, which I never experienced with Elizabeth. Another new thing is that he often prefers to lean on one side, leaving me with a lopsided belly...

What I'm looking forward to? Some of my sweet friends are throwing me a baby shower this weekend, so I'm looking forward to that! Plus we have both sets of parents coming in, so it'll be one fun weekend! :)

What I miss? Great sleep... Being able to turn over comfortably

Symptoms? Frequent potty breaks, exhaustion, being extremely uncomfortable (I don't remember ever feeling quite like this with E), and food cravings

Milestones? 35 weeks down, 35 days to go!

Emotions? The crying is coming back... I've been getting kind of emotional reading certain things and watching some stuff on TV.

The Desk

Well, Elizabeth is 18 months old today! One and a half years old... I almost can't believe it! And in about another month (give or take a week), we should have two children under two... That, I know I can't believe! We're still having camera issues - don't get me started... I will be more than happy to let you know who NOT to use to repair your camera if you'd like the info! The big 18 month post should be up by Friday, but, yet again, it'll be with our little point and shoot. ;)

In the meantime, enjoy some pics of our oldest doing something she loves... coloring!

We're Alive!!

I don't think I've gone this long without posting in a long while... Elizabeth and I both picked up some kid of stomach bug... Elizabeth caught it Monday night and I got it the next night... Let me just say that while a stomach virus is no fun, it's especially not fun at almost 34 weeks pregnant!! Luckily the yucky part just last about 12 hours for each of us, but it's taken me a while to feel up to doing much. Yesterday, Elizabeth and I felt fine, but I just have no energy what-so-ever! We took her to the pediatrician, just to make sure everything was fine (which it was!), but I've never been so glad to eat real food as I am now... And I'm pretty sure that Elizabeth is happy to be drinking milk instead of pedialyte! :)

So, no fun pictures for the week... In fact, I don't remember the last time I pulled out my camera.

Oh, and I just have to take a second to brag on Miss E really quick. I just turned around to check on her (she's coloring as we speak), and I realize she's actually holding the crayon the correct way! This makes her teacher Mama so happy. :)

Miss Independent

From Day One, Elizabeth has been pretty independent. And as she gets older, she shows us her independent streak more and more. We've been working pretty hard on getting Miss E to use silverware at meals. Sometimes she'll want me to put food on her fork/spoon, but she will rarely let me feed it to her - she has to do it! I decided to throw caution to the wind this morning and give her yogurt for the first time in a long time, and she loved it! Of course, she wouldn't let me get a bite in her, but she pretty successfully ate about 3/4 of the container and she didn't make that much of a mess! Such a proud Mommy! :)

A Look of Concentration...

These days, Elizabeth often has a very concentrated/determined look on her face! She is one determined child! When she is working on something, it has to be done, and done right now... Her attention span continues to amaze me - she will spend 15-30 minutes on one single activity. Like these nesting balls... She'll put them together, take them apart (or have me take them apart) and then put them back together, over and over and over. I love watching her when she gets in her grove. Elizabeth is truly a joy to parent! :)

Love the tongue sticking out...

32 Week Doctor's Appointment and Shoes!

Well, all looks on track for David's arrival in about 8 weeks! It's just so crazy to me to go to the doctor, have a quick ultrasound, meet with the doctor, and be told everything looks great and that no more ultrasounds are needed! At this point with Elizabeth, I was having ultrasounds every other week, but I don't think I'll have anymore with David!

He's weighing about 4 pounds, 7 ounces, which is in the 53%! I'm measuring right on track, too. Another difference is I don't have to take my blood pressure several times a day! Praise the Lord.

On another note, Elizabeth has learned how to put her shoes on herself (at least one pair)! She put them on the wrong feet this morning, walked around for a second or two and then plopped back down and switched them - all on her own! She's just getting way too big!

wrong feet!

Much better!!

Frustrated with the shoe!

Weekend in Review

Saturday morning we went on our traditional "grocery run." When we got home, Elizabeth helped unload the groceries!

What a big helper!
One of my all time favorite restaurants in called Peli Peli, and it had been about a year since we had gone. A friend had a groupon for Peli Peli that they gave to us, so we headed there for lunch on Saturday. I had the most delicious steak, Alan had a pork dish, and Elizabeth ate Goldfish, sweet potato fries, and roasted red potatoes (she wouldn't even try the meat we gave to her...). Just in case you're wondering, they have no high chairs there... Elizabeth wasn't the only child (however she was the youngest), but she was the most well behaved!

Birthday lunch with Daddy!

Sitting in the booth like a big girl!

We then headed over to Alan's sister's house to watch the Aggie game... What a great first half (and that's all I'm going to say about that).

Sunday, we headed to church, then came home and ate lunch. After naptime, Elizabeth proceeded to attempt her new favorite activity... getting dressed.

Trying to put a second
pair of pants on

hmm... what about the top!?

I think I can, I think I can,
I think I can!

Overall, we had a great weekend! Definitely a fun one! Can't wait until the next weekend! :)

Nursery Decor

Normally when I'm on etsy, I'm on the lookout for fun new bows for Elizabeth. However, Friday afternoon I was browsing for a different reason... David's nursery! Ever since we got his room put together, I've been hunting for the right artwork to hang in his room. Well, Friday afternoon I found it!

Most of the sports stuff I've found just haven't been what Alan and I wanted... Until I found Shawn St.Peter Photography on etsy. I immediately saw several prints that I would use in a heartbeat (way more than we actually needed). I knew that this was something I couldn't wait to show Alan, so as soon as he got home (and after we ate dinner), I pulled up the site on our computer. And Alan actually agreed with me! I think it was one of the easiest decisions we made regarding David's room!

I don't want to spoil the surprise on what photos we're putting in David's nursery, but I did want to include one of the pictures that definitely made it onto the top of our list!

Back to SCHOOL SALE Vintage Baseball, bat and glove 8x10 print

So, if any of you are looking to decorate a boy's room with anything related to sports, I highly recommend checking out Shawn's etsy shop!

*These opinions are my own based off what I've seen from the etsy store, however, I am receiving an additional 8x10 at no cost with my order for this referral.*

Happy Birthday Alan!!

I just want to take a few minutes to wish my sweet husband Happy Birthday! He's the greatest husband anyone could wish for and I'm so thankful for him. He works extremely hard for our family and I love him even more for that! He is also the greatest Daddy to Miss Elizabeth! When he gets home, he can't wait to play with Elizabeth, no matter how tired he is. Thanks for all you do and I hope you have a great birthday!

Catch it, Elizabeth! :)

Mmm Mmm Good...

Check out E's 17 month post. I know it's a little late, but I kept waiting on my big camera that is being worked on. I finally bit the bullet and did it today, but backdated it for her actual 17 month birthday... :)

Elizabeth and I had a fun filled morning! We went shopping with a friend at Once Upon a Child (I'm on the hunt for a double stroller...) and then hit up Chick-fil-a for lunch! And let me tell you, Elizabeth LOVES Chick-fil-a! I normally just get a 12 count with large fries to split between the two of us because it's cheaper than getting her a kids meal and me something, which is the reason for the large fry container... Today, she decided that she needed to eat her fries out of the container! She grabbed the empty container, put her french fry in it, and would grab it out of the container to take a bite, then put it back in - only to repeat the process. I just love this sweet girl!!

Yummy!

Semi-Wordless Wednesday

So Elizabeth got some new fall/winter shoes from Gammie when they were down a couple weeks ago. I put them on her this morning, and she loved them! Of course, I'm sure a big part of this love is due to the fact that they squeak. We went to lunch with my sister-in-law, so I took the squeakers out in order to not annoy other people and E was sooo confused! I wish I had thought to video her reaction when I first put them on her, but you'll just have to imagine it while watching a video I took after her nap. And I have no idea why she kept saying "no..."

Labor Day Weekend

We sure had a busy, but productive weekend! I'm so glad Alan had Monday off - it let us relax since we didn't do much of that Saturday or Sunday!

Friday evening, Elizabeth and I were in our play room waiting on Daddy to get home! She would go from peeking out the window, to knocking on the front door (a new favorite pastime), to trying to reach and open the door, and then repeat the whole cycle... I think someone missed their Daddy!

Watching for Daddy's red truck

Knock, knock...

I almost got it!!

"helping" with laundry
Saturday, Elizabeth and I had a lot of time to play, since Daddy was all over Houston picking up our rocker and the furniture for David's room (you can see his room here). We had a friend come over and help Alan get the furniture in the house, and we were GREATLY appreciative of it! Saturday evening was spent getting the room in order and beginning the process of washing all of David's clothes!

Meanwhile... here is what Miss E was up to...

Playing it toys too small for her

Putting animals in their bag...

... and dumping them out...

... and then putting them in the ark!

Once we got his rocker in place, Elizabeth tried sooo hard to climb in... But it's just a little too high...

Let me up!

This is mine, right!?

Happy to be in the rocker

Saturday night, I didn't sleep very well at all, so I stayed home from church on Sunday. E has had a bit of a runny nose, so I kept her with me (she would've been fine in the nursery, though... I'm still a paranoid mom...). We had leftover pizza for lunch! And I finally got a semi-decent picture of her new favorite face:

When did she become a teenager!?
Most of the time she's glaring at you with her face tilted down, but for some reason she wouldn't do that on Sunday. She's not really mad, but she sure plays the part! As soon as you smile at her, she's back to her normal, smiley self!

And I have to include this picture, just because it's cute! She loves to play with her farmhouse, except now, instead of sitting or standing to play with it, she likes to lounge on her giant caterpillar. I promise, though, she does have a diaper on! She had just gotten her clothes all wet, so I stripped her to a diaper and hadn't had a chance to put new ones on her.
