Weekend Recap

So I didn't even pick up my "big" camera this weekend, but I did make sure I took some pictures with my phone. :)

On Friday, my mom left to head back home (she came down to watch Elizabeth and David while I went to a teaching conference in Houston). I also took David to the pediatrician concerned that he had pink eye. I'm not 100% sure that he did have it, but we treated it as if he did.

That afternoon Elizabeth found Gammie's glasses and we watched Finding Nemo with Daddy before bed. We also realized that David is outgrowing his 9 month clothes... They kept coming unbuttoned. :)

Saturday, the kids treated us by sleeping late (E until 7:15 and D until 8). After breakfast, we went to the grocery store and then Alan grilled hot dogs for lunch. David took an awful nap, so I ended up holding him for about an hour. I enjoyed snuggling with him!! That afternoon we made two trips to Lowe's to get paint. We struck out with the first sample, hence the second trip to Lowe's. Luckily, we liked the second samples and ended up finding paint colors for the master, living room/dining room, and David's room (all the same color), and paint for Elizabeth's room.

Sunday, one of Alan's sisters drove through College Station and stopped by for lunch and to see the kiddos for a bit. Elizabeth was so excited to see April and she's still talking about April and DoubleDaves today. David ate a TON at lunch - I still don't know where he puts it all! Unfortunately,

We also went back to Lowe's to pick up a couple gallons of paint. They have a $5 off per gallon rebate going on, so we're going to head back and pick up a couple more gallons tonight!

After a yummy dinner of grilled pork chips, potatoes, and roasted veggies, we went to Bahama Bucks to get a snow cone. Elizabeth loved her banana snow cone! And I can't believe I did this, but I even gave David some of mine and as you can see, he was a big fan! :)

We're in for a fun, relaxing week gearing up for Grammie and PawPaw coming down Friday to hang out!

Weekend Recap

We had a fun weekend! Friday morning we got to play with one of David's friends, Maggie. They had a lot of fun playing tug of war with toys!!

While I was trying to get D down for one of his naps, E found some Reese's eggs... And demolished them!! She had chocolate all over her hands and face.

Saturday, Alan smoked a brisket and we had some other friends over. We all had fun playing, and then they watched Peter Pan while the grown ups played games. Silly kids decided it was comfortable to lay on the fireplace/ottoman. Ha

Sunday, we went to church and then met my mom for lunch at fudruckers. She came to town to watch the kids while I go to a conference for work. I'm excited about going to Houston Tuesday through Thursday, but I'm definitely not looking forward to lugging the pump around...

That evening, Alan finally got our mirror hung over the piano. I love it!! :)

Giving up Elizabeth's Paci...

This past Saturday we decided that Elizabeth was going to lose the paci at nap and bedtime (she'd gotten rid of it in the car the week before that...). I was a little nervous about it, and in hindsight, I wouldn't recommend doing it when your other child is in the middle of a sleep regression. Nonetheless, Elizabeth is paci free now! We went cold turkey and threw the paci away Saturday morning.

"bye bye paci!"

Excited... for now

We got her some play-doh for giving up her paci. She loves it!!

This is all for me!?

Saturday nap and evening was really rough... Sunday morning she woke up at 3 am and Alan went in there with her. She got up out of bed somewhere between 3-5 times between 3-7.

At least someone is happy...

Sunday nap we learned that she did much better if you didn't occasionally go in there. Which was hard for this momma when she kept saying "Mommy! Mommy! Mommy!" over and over and over... That evening was a little better, but still not the best. At least she slept all night!

I was worried about Monday nap, especially since David had been having issues sleeping. And it took her about 30 minutes to go to sleep. Alan, however, has the magic touch, because she didn't cry at all when he put her down.

Nighttime has continued to go well and naptime is slowly getting better, thank goodness! I'm so glad we're done with pacis (with one child at least), but I'm not looking forward to getting rid of them with David...

Boxes!

We got two boxes from amazon today - one had an alarm clock for E and crib wraps for D's crib, and the other had a roll of paper for the kids new craft table (side note... while it's the right length, I have a feeling there is way too much paper on the roll to fit... we'll just have to see when the table gets here). I put David in the bigger of the two boxes just to see how he would react - Elizabeth always cried when I put her in a box, so I wanted to see if he did the same. David, however, loved it and would've stayed in there much longer than I let him. :) Elizabeth even joined in on the fun and sat in one, and then decided she wanted to be closer to her baby brother... I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Love that mischievous grin!

I promise no children were
hurt in these boxes... She was
trying to hug him. Haha

"hug him UNDER his arms...
not his neck"

This one cracks me up!!

Our Little Man is Nine Months Old!

David,

Wow! How is it that 3/4 of a year have come and gone? You're just growing and changing so much each and every day and we love getting to see that! We've had a super fun month with you and you continue to amaze us with all you know and can do. Your Daddy and I have the privilege of being with you every day and we couldn't imagine a life without you. You and your sister truly are the biggest blessings in our lives and we can't wait to see how much you grow and change in the months to come.

We love you!
Mommy and Daddy

Weight: 18 lbs, 7 oz (two whole pounds heavier than Elizabeth at this age!)

Length: 28 inches (the same as Elizabeth at this age), although when I measured him he was 29 inches, so I don't know if that's too accurate...

Diaper size: Size 3

Teeth: Six - three on the bottom and 3 on the top

Clothes size: 9 months, 9-12 months, and 12 months!

Sleep: We've struggled in the sleep department again... We're having issues with you going down and staying down lately. Once you're out, regardless of if it's nap time or bed time, you're out, but sometimes we have to go in your room multiple times before you're out for the count.

Favorite activities/things: Rolling over, sitting up, jumping in the jumper, watching Elizabeth, chewing on your hands or any toy, eating anything I feed you!

Eating: You still nurse every 3-4 hours during the day (a total of 5 times a day). You've gone down to eating 1-2 pouches with every meal and then the rest table food. And 99% of the time you out eat your sister, even without the pouches! You must have a hollow leg - I don't know where you put it all!

Nicknames: Little Man, Bubba, Buddy

Talking: You still love making noise, and we love to hear it! You're still saying "mamama," "bababa," and "dadada," and probably a ton of other things I'm not remember off the top of my head. I can't wait until you actually say Mama and Dada for the first time!

New adventures: Not much here... Aside from the fact that you got your first yucky virus this month... You had hand, food, and mouth disease. Luckily it wasn't that bad on your - you only had a couple blisters on your hands and feet and one on your lip - and it definitely didn't affect your eating at all!

New Skills: You've finally started really crawling! You still prefer army crawling if you want to get somewhere fast, but you're doing more and more "real" crawling each day. You also started pulling up on anything and everything! You love to stand up and cruise along the furniture. :)

Our very mobile man was hard to photograph this month, per usual! The only way he would smile is if Miss E would make silly faces and dance around (as evidenced by the fingers in one of the pictures).

Of course we couldn't forget to
take a picture of our princess!

Weekend recap

We had a very fun weekend! And this time, I made sure I picked up my camera and took some pictures. :)

On Saturday, we said "bye bye" to our paci. Elizabeth only had it at nap and bedtime, so we figured it was time to go! I'll do a whole post on giving up our paci, after we finally get into a good routine.

We hung out at the house most of the day! Daddy mowed and the kiddos loved watching him from the window, especially David... He wouldn't leave!

That evening, Alan grilled steak and chicken fajitas and I sauteed bell peppers and onions. Oh my goodness! It was one of the best meals we've had in ages! And I think David agrees...

This face sums up our Sunday morning... Elizabeth up and happy and Alan still wanting to sleep. E woke up at 3 and Alan went in to lay down with her. This picture was taken at 7 when I went to go get Bubba up. :)

Sunday we went to church, had a fun filled afternoon of crying kids who had a hard time napping... And then that evening we went back to the church for our seminar for Parent Dedication (like baby dedication). Afterwards we went to DoubleDaves for a Belly Buster combo. Elizabeth actually ate about the same as David for a change... David ate a little over a piece of pizza and Elizabeth ate an entire slice of pizza AND the top part of the chocolate cookie pizza. Sooo yummy!

Hope everyone else had a great weekend! Stay tuned for a "bye bye paci" post soon!
