David's 6 month pictures

Our plans for getting David's 6 month pictures were kind of up in the air since our move. Luckily, our favorite photographer Natalie from Natalie Blazei Photography has family that lives in College Station so we were able to get together for David's 6 month pictures shortly after he turned 7 months old. And let me tell you, she did a GREAT job! I'm in love with all of the pictures! Natalie was even gracious enough to take a couple of Miss Elizabeth, which also turned out great! If you're in the Houston area, I can't recommend her enough (and she even offers some mini-sessions when she's in College Station for you locals).

So, without further ado, here are some of my favorites. :)

This is sooo an Elizabeth face!!

He definitely loves the grass!

Thanks Natalie for the great pictures! I can't wait to do David's one year pictures! :)

Weight Loss Wednesday

Wow... Two posts in one day! It's a record for me these days. Ha. So about a month ago I began my journey to lose weight and eat/live healthier. The first three weeks were great and I ended up losing 10 pounds. However, in the past week and a half I haven't lost anything. So I've added Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred to my routine (as of today), in addition to doing Couch to 10K and walking on my off days. So, for posterity sake, here are my before and month in pictures. I've still got 10-20 pounds to go, but hopefully in the next couple months (read: by David's first birthday...) I'll be super happy with where I am. :)

Our Little Man is 8 Months Old!

David,

Yet another month has come and gone and I can't believe you're 2/3 of a year old! You've changed soo much in this past month it's not even funny! You're such a trooper with all the traveling we've done and we love that about you. You're easy-going about anything (unless you're hungry) and super laid back. That has been such a blessing as we go and do things this summer! We love you so much buddy!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

Weight: Probably around 17-18 lbs

Length: My guess is around 30 inches - I've had to change the setting on the jumper to make it further from the ground. :)

Diaper size: Size 3

Teeth: Three bottom teeth and your top two are going to pop through any day now!

Clothes size: 9 months, 6-9 months, and even some 12 months!

Sleep: You take two naps a day. For about a week you didn't take your morning nap and that was no fun for anyone! Now you're back to taking between 1 - 1 1/2 hour morning naps and 2-3 hour afternoon naps. You go to bed around 8 and sleep straight through the night. I'm not sure what time you actually wake up because you're so quiet in your crib, but my guess is it's between 6-6:30. You play quietly with your paci and lovey and I typically get you up around 7:15.

Favorite activities/things: Rolling over, sitting up, jumping in the jumper, watching Elizabeth, chewing on your hands or any toy, eating anything I feed you!

Eating: You still nurse every 3-4 hours during the day (a total of 5 times a day). You're also still eating about 3 pouches with each meal. We have a ton of pouches that we bought off Zulily for super cheap, so we're hoping those will be the last time we buy you baby food! You're eating more and more table food and hopefully you'll soon be eating mainly what we eat!

Nicknames: Little Man, Bubba, Buddy

Talking: You've become quite the talkative little man! You love making noise, and we love to hear it! This month brought the "mamama," "bababa," and "dadada" (in that order). I can't wait until you actually say Mama and Dada for the first time!

New adventures: You got to go to the beach and loved the water and sand!

New Skills: You've perfected the army crawl this month! You use it to get anywhere and everywhere you want to go! If you leave shoes on the floor, watch out, because those are your favorite! Pulling up on Mommy is also something new! You'll crawl over and just use my legs to pull yourself up into a standing position. I love it! You also finally learned how to sit up on your own. Daddy didn't believe me at first, because you just wouldn't perform for him for the longest time! Ha.

Our Little Man wanted nothing to do with sitting in his chair, so these are the best I could do! :) Maybe I'll try again and see what happens.

We love the grass

I've gotta do better...

Something about having two kids is really keeping me from blogging. Or maybe it is the fact that I'm constantly exhausted so instead of blogging (when I have a chance) I spend a little time taking a shower, or eating, or catching up on a missed TV show.

So... what all has happened since I last blogged?

  • My parents came down to visit for a long weekend
  • During said weekend, we think I got a mild case of food poisoning... yuck!
  • David has really perfected the army crawl and we can't leave him along for a second
  • David had several days of not taking a morning nap
  • David finally learned how to sit up (and is on his second GREAT nap of the day!!)
  • We got our storage system for our playroom and I've been working on organizing it
  • We've played in the water, both at home and at a friends pool
    • At the pool, Elizabeth voluntarily closed her eyes, held her breath, and stuck her face under water! I have no idea where it came from, but it was such a shocker, considering this is the girl that hated the pool the first 3 or 4 times this summer! She was also wanting to be very independent, swimming by herself or with the two kiddos we were with (going into 5th and 3rd grade)!
  • Elizabeth has started talking about minutes and hours (where she learned this, I have no idea)
  • We're having issues with our hot water heater, hopefully our home warranty will cover it, but I'm not holding my breath...
  • Alan's truck battery died, we had to attempt to jump it at 7:30 pm, then go back to pick it up (asleep kids and all) at 9:30 pm... The kids did great - didn't wake up in the pick-up, put in car seat, get out of car seat, put back in bed...
  • And to top it off, we found out one of our sweet pups has cancer...
All that to say, it's been a pretty crazy week and a half! I haven't been too great taking pictures with my big camera, surprise, surprise... But I have done a fairly good job with my iPhone. Since I'm on my computer, I'll post the few camera pics that I do have and then hopefully I can do a separate post with iPhone pics. There are more pictures of David than Elizabeth this go round... Mainly because I can't get her to hold still for a picture.

Melt my heart...

Loves the grass!

Crawled all the way off the blanket right away!

David found the door stop...
... and could say there for hours...

... so much fun!

D found the mirror in our room that hasn't been hung...

Kisses!

Feeding her Boo

Big and lil playing

Trying to pick up Bubba

She finally decided Popsicles
weren't out to hurt her!

He hated the splash pad...

... so sweet big sis comforted him

... and all was better!

Splashing together

David had his first taste of spaghetti

He loved it!

... but didn't get messy like big sis did her
first time eating it...
