Teeth!

Well, it seems like I can finally say that Elizabeth has her first tooth! I've been feeling her gums pretty regularly, and on January 6, I felt something sharp. I peeked into her mouth and discovered a TOOTH! It's so funny to me that we thought she was getting her canines when she was so little, but it actually took until nine months old to sprout one. :) I'm having a hard time getting a picture of her tooth (she doesn't open her mouth up to show it very well...), but rest assured I'm working on it!

Even though I missed getting her tooth,
 I love this one!

This is the best I can get. You can kind of see
the tooth!

Teeth!

Up until fairly recently, Elizabeth has never really been into putting her hands into her mouth. Now, however, it is a different story. She is ALWAYS chewing on her fingers, and it seems that she prefers them over most of her other toys. On Tuesday (7/19) I was letting Elizabeth chew on my fingers when I decided to take a look and see if any teeth had broken through. Lo and behold, her right canine (I think that's what it's called) tooth had just begun to break the surface. I guess that explains all of the chewing, not to mention the lack of night time sleep and the occasional fussiness. I don't have any pictures of her tooth just yet, but here are some pictures of her chewing on her hands (and other things). :)

Tuesday musings

Well, not much has been going on today. I need to go to Target, but didn't because I thought today was the day the UVerse guys were coming to reinstall our UVerse box (we had gotten rid of it for a couple months, but got a little tired of not having it). I was sadly mistaken, though. They don't come until tomorrow. I guess I'll just try and get out this evening once Alan gets home.

We had a crazy busy day yesterday, so I am very thankful for a day at home! We have a long weekend planned with Alan's sisters and their families - I can't wait to see everyone! I haven't seen my nieces in forever, it seems. We're going to be chilling by the pool all weekend (well, as much as we can with Elizabeth...) and eating all sorts of yummy food!

Elizabeth's hand-eye coordination has taken off in the past month or so. The last time I was in Texarkana, she started grabbing things and trying to bring them to her mouth. Well, so has now perfected that art! Elizabeth can even take her paci out and then put it back in her mouth. It's only happened once so far, so we'll see if that continues. It's so fun to see her grow and learn new things daily! Elizabeth still rolls all the time, and I have a feeling it won't be long before she's on the move. If not crawling, then some other way. She already gets her legs up under her and tries to crawl.

We've also seriously entered the teething phase. I know for sure she is trying to cut 2 teeth, but I'm also pretty sure there is a third that she's also trying to cut. I'll let you know after this weekend, when I can ask the advice of my sister-in-laws. Elizabeth is drooling like nobody's business, and loves to be chewing on anything, from her hand (her favorite) to teething rings, to blankets. I'll be so glad when her teeth come in!

I just love taking pics in the mirror!

Can't resist this sweet face!

hmm... what's this thing?

I think I might like to eat it...

or wave it around

bringing it to my mouth

it's so fun to look at!

Where did she get it? *UPDATE!*

Those that know me well know that I always have to have my sunglasses with me... Case in point...

Ready to go to church!

Our first walk when Elizabeth was itty bitty

I wear them tons more than this, I just don't get pictures taken with me in them very much. Haha. Such is the life of being the person behind the camera. :)

I think it's safe to say, however, that my daughter wasn't born with the same love of sunglasses. Every time I try to put them on her, she gets upset and takes them off. Here's to hoping that she eventually decides she likes them!

Before the crying ensues

I don't think I like these...

Get them off me!!

These taste better than they look on me

On a side note... Elizabeth has her first cold. :( . Hopefully this is a short lived cold! is teething! What I thought might be a cold has just turned into the beginning of getting teeth! Despite the fact that she's teething, Elizabeth is in a great mood! :)
