Trip to Abilene
We went to Abilene this past weekend! This time, Miss E got to meet Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Riddle. She had a blast with them, and I know they enjoyed loving on Elizabeth! She also got to meet her Great Grandpa Letz. He knew just what to do to make Elizabeth smile. I don't have the pictures of meeting Great Grandpa Letz (and our second visit to Great Grandma Letz), but Alan's mom does. Hopefully I can add those to the blog later.

5 Month photo shoot
As I was uploading the photos from my camera to my computer, I almost had a major meltdown... I couldn't find ANY of the pictures that I had taken today. My camera card was nearing it's capacity, but I assumed that it continued to store pictures. I mean, previously, a message had popped up when the card was full. So I looked back on my camera and there the pictures were. I unplugged it from the computer, turned it off and then on, and then plugged it back in. Still no pictures! ::Cue the beginning of an extremely mad Mommy:: I repeated this a couple more times just to see if anything changed. Well, I just happened to look and there was a new folder once I plugged my camera into the computer. Lo and behold, there were all my pictures. I was SOOO relieved!
Pictures this month were kind of difficult to get! You didn't want to smile at all when we were in our chair, but as soon as I got you out, you were all smiles! Typical woman. :)

5 Months Old!
Dear Elizabeth,
I know I say it every month, but I can't believe that you're now 5 months old! Time is flying by so fast! I miss the newborn phase already, but I also love the stage you're in now. You are so curious about the world around you and it seems like you can't wait to explore your surroundings. You're still such a happy baby! I love going into your room in the morning or when you wake up from your naps. You just grin and flail your legs up and down. It melts my heart every time! You're growing up before our eyes and Daddy and I can't wait to see what the next month has in store for you.

Weight: somewhere around 13 1/2 pounds
Length: around 26 inches
Diaper size: Size 2
Teeth: Well, what we thought was a tooth wasn't really a tooth. It was white, shiny, and hard, but it's definitely gone now. Who knows what it really was. But, the gums of your bottom middle teeth are definitely lightening up, so it's anyone's guess as to when they'll finally pop through.
Clothes size: You're now in 3-6 months in everything, in addition to wearing 6 months in one piece outfits.
Sleep: We dropped your "dream feed" right around the time you got your shots, so you started waking up again at night. You were getting up between 3-5 to eat and then sleeping until 7:30ish. But, for the past two nights, you've slept straight through until 6:30-7! Hopefully you continue this... Mommy definitely likes it. :) Most of the time you take 2 good naps that are 1 1/2- 2 1/2 hours. I have a feeling if you continue sleeping through the night you'll also add in a 45 minute cat nap in the evening.
Favorite activities/things: You still love your little snail! You push and push it to make it play music. You also love Sophie the Giraffe. It sure tastes good! You've started to enjoy your time in the exersaucer and jumper. You play in them while Mommy pumps these days. You like watching your mobile in your crib - I think you could stare at it for hours. Bath time, however, continues to be your favorite activity of the day! You could sit and play in the tub for hours if we let you. It's where we got your first laugh! Watching GiggleBellies!!
Eating: You eat about every four hours during the day: 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm (give or take 30 minutes either way). You eat 6-7 ounces each time, normally 27 ounces each day. I've tried giving you more, but you always take in about the same. You seem ready to eat "real" food these days. You reach for Mommy's food and just stare at her while she's eating. It is too cute! We'll start that in the next couple of weeks.
Nicknames: Lizzie, Miss E, Sweet Pea, Baby Doll
Talking: My goodness do you love to talk! This month you've figured out how to work your vocal chords. Your favorite thing to do these days is squeal and screech! It is so cute... except for at 2 in the morning. :)
New adventures: You went to Aunt Amber's house for the day on 8/13. She picked you up from our house and you got to hang out with her, Uncle George, and Jacob all day while Mommy and Daddy relaxed a little at the house. You didn't sleep very well at her house - maybe your cousin was making too much noise? Mommy and Daddy definitely missed you and were so glad to see you again!

You also got to ride in a convertible for the first time. You sure looked cute with your sunglasses on, but you definitely didn't like the ride.
