Elizabeth is 3 1/2!

Just like with David, I can't believe my firstborn is 3 1/2 years old! I've been going through all my older pictures and sweet Elizabeth has just grown and matured so much in the past 6 months! She is such a ham and loves her independence! Here is a little about my sweet 3 1/2 year old...

  • She is in 3 year old preschool and she LOVES her teachers! I love that she is right across the hall from me and I get to see her a bit more throughout the day than I used to.
  • She is counting to 20 and knows most of her letter and letter sounds (depending on her mood...). And thanks to LeapFrog, she is learning her days of the week and months of the year!
  • Elizabeth and David can often be found playing really well together! True, they still have their spats, but most of the time, I am seeing a very sweet bond form!
  • Elizabeth is 100% potty trained! One night I just decided to stop pull-ups at night and we haven't looked back! Now, she wakes up once to go potty in the middle of the night and then again as soon as she wakes up in the morning.
  • Morning time is one of my favorite times to watch her on the monitor. She'll wake up, go potty, turn on her light, get dressed, and then pull all her books into bed and "read" them.

  • Elizabeth loves to travel and go anywhere her grandparents are! She truly loves Grammie, PawPaw, Gammie and Pops and would love to see them every day if she could.
  • She has gotten really good at riding her tricycle and loves to zoom around the porch. Elizabeth is also learning how to tumble and can do quite the roll when she wants.
  • Elizabeth loves to color and write her name whenever she has a chance. She also loves stickers, especially when she can put them all over David's body...
  • We started AWANA'S this past month and Elizabeth has already learned 2 verses! We are so proud of her!

Elizabeth's favorite...
  • color - purple
  • book - Pinkalicious
  • Bible story - Jesus
  • movie - The Little Mermaid: Return to the Sea
  • TV show - ScoobyDoo
  • food - chicken
Elizabeth - Mommy, Daddy, and David love you to the moon and back! We can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for you the rest of this year!

Our Little Man is 23 Months!

Month 22 blew right past, and before I even had a chance to slow down to blog about it, here we are at month 23... Just one month shy of 2 years old. I almost can't believe it! Wasn't he just my itty bitty baby? In his place is a toddler, full of words, sentences, and tons of fun!

While David was cooperative this time with pictures, I couldn't get any really good ones of him smiling... just of him saying "cheese."

  • David, you're still in size 4 diapers and 18-24 month and 24 month clothes. Although, you've tried on some of your 2T fall clothes and you could technically wear them now.
  • You're still napping pretty well. You sleep anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 hours. And you're definitely in a better mood when you get closer to 3 hours...

  • You went through a phase where you weren't really eating anything, but luckily that hasn't seemed to last too long. Typically, breakfast is your worst meal and lunch is your best (at least on MDO days)
  • You love your big sister and want to do everything she does! You even like reading now! We've started a tradition of reading books as a family in Elizabeth's bed before going to sleep and you are liking longer and longer books and are developing a better attention span with the Bible story.

  • I think we have finally kicked separation anxiety to the curb... ::knock on wood:: You have been doing such a good job lately of going in to MDO and the church nursery without crying! Fingers crossed that it stays this way!!
  • You have also decided that, while Mommy is pretty awesome, it's ok to hang out with other people, too! We started our Bible study group up last night and you actually played with the other adults!!

  • You are constantly talking, and I am amazed at your vocabulary and how you use words and phrases correctly! The biggest surprise for me has been using "I" instead of "me" - you'll say "I do it," as opposed to "me do it," which I feel like is the more common thing to do.
  • You are definitely starting to pick up speaking in sentences. You still use some one word phrases, but you are quickly moving into 3-4 word sentences a majority of the time!

"Cheese"

Birthday party planning is in full swing and I can't wait for your second birthday! Mommy, Daddy, and Elizabeth love you to the moon and back! You are such a sweet little man and we can't wait to see what all God has in store for you.

Life

Life has been moving 90 to nothing these past few months. I thought that I would for sure have plenty of time to blog over the summer, but obviously that didn't happen... Ha. And then once school started I assumed that having a more structured routine would help... Double ha... So one of these days I might get back to regular scheduled blogging, but for now, here is a small snippet of what we have been doing the last two weeks.

Reading books in Elizabeth's bed

Sitting in the baby bouncer
after our friend's have left

Playing in the dirt while Mommy
and Daddy are doing yard work

Driving David's truck

And most importantly...
Trying to get our exercise on.

First Day of School!

Today was our first day of school! It's definitely going to be an adjustment getting up and out the door by 7:45 am... But it's so worth it to be able to teach some super sweet four year olds (and so Elizabeth can go to preschool and David to Mother's Day Out!)

David wasn't too into pictures this morning... Probably because we had to wake him up about 30-45 minutes earlier than he normally wakes up. Luckily, they both still looked just as precious as they did this morning at the end of the day, so I was able to take some more pictures when he was a bit more cooperative. :)

Miss Elizabeth started 3 year old preschool this year, and I just can't believe that she's old enough to be in preschool. In just 2 short years she'll be in kindergarten... Be still my heart! She had a great first day and loves her teachers!

David started his second year in MDO this year. His teacher is a mom of one of my students, and I couldn't be more thrilled that he is in her class! He also had a great first day - in fact, he didn't even cry when I left him this morning! Now to pray that he continues doing this well with drop off. ;) He loves being at church/school, but doesn't like drop off too much...

Our attempt at pictures with both of them... They didn't work so well.

I have a big wagon that I use to carry in all of my stuff, as well as the kids stuff. David and Elizabeth are both big helpers with the wagon. Today, David pulled it into the church for me. Sometimes he pulls, and sometimes he rides and Elizabeth pulls Such sweet helpers!

And here are some pictures from the end of the day...
