13 weeks with Baby Letz #2

Pregnancy Highlights

How far along? 13 weeks and 2 days!

Baby's size? Lemon (3 inches, 1.5 ounces). At our ultrasound on Thursday, Baby L was measuring a day ahead! No special treatment this go around... ;)

Gender? Well, while we still have no clue, I do have some old wives tales...

  • If we were to go by heart rate, it's a girl.
  • According to the Chinese Gender Predictor, it's a boy.
  • And, I don't know how true this is, but I read that if the placenta is on the right, you have a 97% chance of the baby being a boy. Which, would mean boy for us.
This is all just for fun, we'll be excited if we have a boy or a girl! I think it's interesting to do this. And the old wives tales were right with Elizabeth, so we'll see this time! :)

Weight Gain? Up a pound

Maternity clothes? Well, I've been in maternity pants for several weeks now... And I've bought some shirts that I like, but I can definitely still wear regular shirts, dresses, and "comfy" pants/shorts.

Stretch marks? No new ones yet. I feel like the ones I got with Miss E were finally starting to fade, but they're a little more prominent now... uh oh... gotta start lotioning up!

Belly button in or out? In

Sleeping? Ehh... I wake up several times a night to go to the bathroom... Again, I thought this was supposed to happen later! ;)

Foods I'm loving? Burgers, steak, Italian food, bread, Chick-fil-a sandwiches with extra pickles (I never get those, but the nuggets just don't taste the same these days)...

Foods I'm hating? It depends on the day. Unlike with Elizabeth, I'm not too keen on fruit and sweet stuff...

Best moment this week? Getting to have another ultrasound and finding out that I'm not going to have to see a high risk doctor with this pregnancy!

Movement? If I wasn't sure I was feeling movement last week, I am sure this week!

What I'm looking forward to? Finding out Baby L's gender in 2 more months! :)

What I miss? Sleeping through the night...

Symptoms? Frequent potty breaks, exhaustion, food cravings/aversions, still the occasional nausea (although it's almost completely gone...  ::knock on wood::)

Milestones? I'm 1/3 of the way done with this pregnancy! Look out second trimester! :)

Emotions? I cry over just about anything these days...

13 months old!!

Elizabeth, you're 13 months old today! A few tidbits about the month...

- You walk everywhere! As of this week, you are rarely crawling anymore.

- You LOVE to read!! You have favorite books in each room, and I am always reading to you. You've started to bring me a book, sit in my lap, and help me turn the pages.

- You still don't say many words... Dada is your favorite word. Every time I try to get you to say mama, you bust out dada. It sure makes daddy happy! You've started to try to say Gracie. It is super cute! You have conversations ALL the time, but no one can understand what you're saying.

- You never sit still! No wonder you're so tiny! :)

- You eat pretty well, most of the time. You've started not eating meat like you were, but you still love veggies, especially sweet potatoes! Still not a fruit eater...

- You sleep from 8-7:30 and take two naps. One at 10, and the other around 2:30.

- You still wear size 3 diaper. You wear either 12 or 18 month clothes- depends on the outfit.

- You have four teeth. I think you're working on several more, but we'll see!

I couldn't get you to sit still for any pictures, but I still think they turned out cute!

12 weeks with Baby Letz #2!

Pregnancy Highlights

12 weeks 2 days
How far along? 12 weeks and 2 days!

Baby's size? About the size of a peach (3 in long). I go for an ultrasound on Thursday, so we'll see what they tell us!

Gender? No clue... We'll find out in about 8 weeks! I'm wondering though... cravings are completely different that when I was pregnant with Miss E, so we shall see if that means anything!

Weight Gain? I haven't gained or lost anything. Hoping not to gain quite as much as last with Elizabeth! :)

Foods I'm hating? It depends on the day. Unlike with Elizabeth, I'm not too keen on fruit and sweet stuff... Also, my favorite - Mexican food - is not so much a favorite lately

Best moment this week? Not having as much nausea! :)

Movement? Well, I feel like I am feeling this little one, but I'm not 100% sure.
What I'm looking forward to? My ultrasound this Thursday!

What I miss? Sleeping through the night and sleeping on my stomach

Symptoms? Frequent potty breaks, exhaustion, food cravings/aversions, still the occasional nausea (although it's almost completely gone...  ::knock on wood::)

Milestones? Almost out of the first trimester!

Emotions? I cry over just about anything these days...

And here is a comparison pictures... So crazy to me that I'm almost the same size as I was at 19 weeks last go around...

I think it's time...

... to get Elizabeth a purse. What do you think?

She keeps putting my flip flops on her arm like she's carrying a purse... Silly girl!

The past several days...

We had beautiful weather all last week (up until yesterday, really), so Elizabeth and I spent a lot of time outside. We never stayed out too long at a time because we don't have any shade in our backyard, but I made sure we went out several times a day.

What's this?

Silly face!!

New shoes! This is what it looks like when size 2 are too little, but size 3 are too big...

Waving at the dogs.

Playing with Daddy!

And today when Elizabeth wakes up... Pool time!!

First swim of the season...

Elizabeth got a fun whale swimming pool from Gammie and Pops for her birthday. Since its been so warm lately, I had Alan blow it up so we could use it this week. It also has a place to fit the hose in to allow for the "blow hole," but I couldn't figure it out... So that is a job for Daddy.

I figured that since Miss E likes baths so much, she would love the pool. And boy was I right! :) She loved splashing and kicking in the water. I didn't bring any toys out because I wasn't completely sure what her reaction would be, but I will next time.

Easter 2012

What a wonderful Easter we had this year! We were able to go and freely worship our resurrected Savior at church Sunday morning. Our church had a beautiful service - we are so blessed to be members of a church that praises the name of Jesus every Sunday!

After church, Alan, Elizabeth, and I went to Fuddruckers for Easter lunch! I've been really liking burgers and fries this pregnancy (especially Five Guys and Fuddruckers), and Alan was nice enough to comply with his pregnant wife's wishes.

When we got home, we kept Elizabeth occupied with her Easter basket full of goodies - a swim suit, hat, sunscreen, and her favorite, books.

When Miss E woke up from her nap, we had her second Easter egg hunt of the year (the first was Saturday in Uncle Dustin's apartment with Gammie and Pops). She had fun... Until she figured out how to open the egg and found the goldfish inside. :)

Love your baby...

The past week or so, Elizabeth has learned the cutest thing ever! If you tell her to "love your baby," she'll find her nearest baby doll/stuffed animal and give it her version of a hug. I love it! She'll also do it to people, as long as the person holding her isn't doing the asking. What fun times!

Party Post 4: Elizabeth's "Big" Present

Elizabeth got one big present for her birthday... And when I mean big, I mean, honestly, it was too big...

But that's all good, because she has seven months to grow into it...

We made the "big" announcement at Elizabeth's birthday party. We had the shirt wrapped up, and it was the last present that Miss E opened. Of course, I couldn't keep my big mouth shut, so some people already knew, but it was great to surprise everyone else!

The details...

Baby Letz #2 is due November 3, which puts me at 9 1/2 weeks! We had our first ultrasound Friday, March 30, and s/he was measuring 8 weeks 3 days with a heart rate of 184bpm! We go back April 26 for another ultrasound, which I can't wait for. Alan and I are so excited about this new addition and can't wait until November when we get to meet him/her!

Party Post 3: The Smash Cake

Elizabeth had TONS of fun with her smash cake!! I'm so glad Aunt Amber was there to take all the pictures - she did a great job capturing the moment! Because so many amazing pictures were taken, I had a hard time narrowing it down... stay tuned for a very picture laden post! :)
