Our Little Man is 21 Months Old!

I can't believe I only have 3 more "monthly" updates to do until David turns 2! This second year is going by even faster than the first! Not much has changed from last month to this month. He is still obsessed with airplanes, cars, trucks, helicopters, and tractors. But now, in addition to all of those, there are trains... He loves to watch "Tom," what he asks for when he wants to watch Thomas the Train. This is the first tv series that will keep him watching for longer than 2 minutes!

  • David is still my little snugglebug and loves for Mommy to put him down. It is so funny because when Alan walks in the door he's all over Alan... until bedtime... I'll take it while it lasts!

  • David just moved up to size 6 shoes (only a size away from his big sister...) and he can easily fit into 6.5 too. Stride Rite is our best friend because of his wide foot!
  • He's still in size 4 diapers and 24 month clothes. But I have a feeling he'll be outgrowing 24 month clothes pretty soon.

  • He loves his big sister, as long as she isn't trying to take anything of his, and they are starting to play soo well together!

So proud to be standing and
saying "cheese"

He heard and airplane and started pointing!

We love our little man and look forward to the next wonderful month with him!

And of course Miss E wasn't about to be left out of the pictures... She loves her picture being taken. :)

And just to be perfectly honest, this is what happened when David saw Elizabeth sitting in his chair.. Ha! Gone are the days when he will pose sweetly with her in his big red chair... Gotta find somewhere neutral to get that to happen.

Wordless Wednesday

*Stay tuned tomorrow for David's 21 month update! The ground was a bit too wet to take pictures outside this morning...*

Weekend Recap 7/4-7/6

I've already posted about our 4th, so I'll spare most of those details... But once Alan got home, the kiddos were all over him! They didn't want him to do anything but play! And play they did. :)

Saturday, we just hung out around the house, ran a couple errands, and played outside. David LOVES Alan's hats, and my glasses case has become his "iPhone." He walked around all day calling it an iPhone and answering whoever is calling him.

Sunday we headed to our church for the first time in 5 weeks. It had been way too long! It was so nice getting to go back and we can't wait to get back in the groove of things! We took naps that afternoon and finished picking up the house to get ready for the new week.

Happy 4th of July!

I am fully aware that I am more than a month behind in my blogging... Hopefully in the next week or so I can get everything updated and then stay blogging at regular intervals (how many times have I said that in the last year or so!?)! Of course, I'll still be missing some pictures from my Dad's camera, but that is pretty normal for me... Ha.

I hope that everyone is having a blessed 4th of July! We are just hanging out at home today, playing outside and eating chili dogs for dinner! Can't wait! I attempted to get some pictures of my two little firecrackers today. A few of them turned out pretty cute, but some were more so the "normal" everyday life. :)

D didn't want E's arm around his shoulders

Kisses!

Enjoying a special snack for taking pictures...

E is ALWAYS in D's truck...

... and D prefers E's pink car...

I think we need a blue tricycle!

Gammie and Pops House!

The kids and I got to spend a week in Texarkana with my parents and we had a blast!

They have stairs so I put these chairs to block them. My smart kiddos decided to sit in the chairs facing the stairs, so I quickly had to turn them around.

See the dog? She loves it!

David LOVED the pool! I'll have to post the video of him being thrown in, but suffice to say, he's a little dare devil. Miss E, on the other hand, was perfectly content to stay on the little one foot deep ledge that the pool has. :)

Gammie and Pops gave them the cutest chairs! David's is a frog and Elizabeth's is a flower.

We hit up sonic happy hour one day... Love David's bed head!

Often we would let the kids have a small treat after swimming. This night, David decided to put his bowl of ice cream on his head... Luckily it was devoid of any ice cream. ;)

Elizabeth ate her ice cream cone like a big girl!!

David got his first "big" boo-boo while we were there. He fell and hit a windowsill and it left a pretty big cut. Gammie put ice on it and fortunately it didn't bruise!

One evening we took a trip to Shreveport to hit up Stride Rite, the carousel, and Build-a-Bear. Elizabeth LOVED the moving horses, but David wanted nothing to do with them (quite the opposite from the swimming pool...)

Gammie and Pops watched both kids on our anniversary (June 28), so Alan and I could celebrate six years of marriage! We enjoyed a yummy dinner at one of the local restaurants (Ironwood Grill) and then saw the new Transformers movie - complete with a big bag of popcorn and a Mr. Pibb. What a great anniversary!

We had a blast and can't wait to go back!!
