Christmas Day with Gammie and Pops

Christmas morning we woke up to freezing cold temperatures and rain, which turned to sleet and then snow later on that day. We were definitely glad that we had made the decision (as hard as it was) to leave Abilene to avoid driving in the yucky weather!

My parents have all the good pictures, so I'll have to post the rest of the Christmas pictures later, but Santa came and brought Miss E and red kitchen set! She absolutely loves it! It's currently still in Texarkana waiting to be enjoyed while the kids and I are down for a while.

We love oven mitts!

Christmas Eve with MeMaw and Granddaddy Great

Since we ended up having to leave Abilene early due to the potential of bad weather in Texarkana, we were able to celebrate Christmas with my grandparents on Christmas Eve. We had a delicious dinner of smoked pork tenderloin, my Granny's BBQ sauce, potato casserole, and my favorite jello dessert!

Elizabeth wasn't in the best mood (not napping and sleeping well while traveling will do that to a toddler...), so she ended up having to go to bed in the middle of opening presents. We still had fun opening them while she was awake! :)

David just looks way too big here!

I love my Pops!

Love the look of pure
joy on her face!

Elizabeth is 21 months!

Not much new happened this month... In all honestly, your 21st month flew by so fast! You still love to love on your baby brother and are growing into an even better big sister! It was yucky outside, so we took pictures inside. You also weren't very cooperative this month...

look at those curls!

Christmas in Abilene

We had initially said that we weren't going to travel over the Christmas break... But that was before we decided we were going to be selling our house and would have to keep it über clean. So, the Saturday before Christmas we headed to Abilene to hang out with Alan's family. His sisters, their husbands, and the kiddos were all down, which was great for Elizabeth! We didn't get many pictures at all... Probably due to the fact that David decided he wanted to get sick for the first time (talk about fun... NOT). Alan's mom did end up with some good ones of her and the kids, but I don't have a copy of them...

We were going to stay until Christmas Day, but we saw the weather in Texarkana was supposed to be bad the 25th, so we ended up having to travel Christmas Eve. The trip from Abilene to Texarkana went very well! Much better than expected.

Christmas in Texarkana to be continued...

David is 2 Months Old!

David,
What another whirlwind of a month! Your big sister, Daddy, and I continue to grow more in love with you each and every day! It's just amazing how much we can love one little person. You celebrated one of your many "firsts" this month with Thanksgiving! You had a great time being passed from person to person, and everyone else loved getting to meet you. I know everyone is anxious to see you again for Christmas! We can't wait to see what all happens in your third month. We love you Buddy!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

My birthday!
One Month Old!

Two Months Old!
Weight: 11 pounds, 10.5 ounces

Length: 23 3/4 inches

Diaper size: Size 1, but we're moving you to size 2 as soon as we finish our last box of size 1s!

Teeth: Not yet!

Clothes size: You're wearing 0-3 and 3 month size clothes, you're also wearing MudPie 0-6 month outfits. I have a feeling you'll soon be in 3-6 month clothes! You're one long fella!

Sleep: During the day, you'll typically only sleep in your crib for 30-45 minutes at a time. After you wake up (and multiple times trying to get you back down), I'll move you to your swing where you'll finish your nap. At night, you give me anywhere from 2-5 hours and you generally sleep very well in your crib. It just depends on the night. :)

Favorite activities/things: Sleeping, wiggling, eating, smiling, and talking. :)

Eating: Most of the time you eat every 3 hours during the day, with random 2 hour intervals thrown in there for good measure. At night, you go anywhere from 3-5 hours, but you sometimes wake up more than you eat.

Nicknames: Little Man, Bubba

Talking: You've become quite the talkative little man! You love making noise, and we love to hear it!

New adventures: You had your first Thanksgiving and got to meet your great grandparents, Aunt MoMo, Uncle Dustin, and Aunt April! What a fun month!!

New Skills: You still hold up your head really well. Rolling tummy to back also continues to happen, so I know that's not a fluke. Your two big things this month are smiling and REALLY getting into talking.

Just chillin'
