Baking with Santa

It's been way too long since I've last been here. And a lot has happened! We've traveled to see both sets of parents, went to Oklahoma for my sister's graduation (for the record, 9 1/2 hours in the car with two small kids is not the most fun... But seeing Michelle graduate was definitely worth it!), had Thanksgiving, and perhaps, most importantly, visited Santa!

For those that remember, this is how our visit with Santa started out last year...

Elizabeth ignored Santa for quite a while before warming
up to him...

And David just wasn't having
the man in the red suit...

So I was a bit nervous on how this year was going to turn out. Luckily, they both loved Santa! Phew... We did baking with Santa and the kids had a blast rolling out the dough, cutting cookies, and even eating a few! David has started sticking his tongue out a lot, so we got some priceless photos of that, which is a bit hilarious. Any time we'd say "smile" he'd stick that tongue right out.

David's Second Birthday Party!

David had a great birthday party this year! It was pretty small, but everyone had a blast! My parents, both of Alan's sisters and their families, and one of our friends and their family came. Much fun was had by all the kids in the bounce house and playing all around our backyard!

Elizabeth even got a new Frozen outfit!

David wasn't too much on all the attention that singing "Happy Birthday" brought. He buried his head in my neck and didn't look up until everyone was done singing. It was pretty cute, if you ask me!

All in all, David had a great birthday hanging out with friends and family! Can't wait to see everyone again soon!

Our Little Man is TWO!

How in the world is David two years old!? I still feel like he was born yesterday! David is such a sweet little man! He loves to cuddle, but is also all boy! He loves his sister and wants to do anything and everything she does.

  • David weighs 27 pounds, 2 ounces (55%). He is 2 feet, 11.75 inches (84%). And his head circumference is 48.5 centimeters (58%).
  • You are wearing size 4 diapers during the day and size 5 at night. We'll move up to size 5 all the time once we use up the rest of the 4's.
  • You are wearing 24 months and 2T. You can still wear your 24 month summer outfits, but all of your fall stuff is 2T. You have definitely inherited your Daddy's genes and are tall and skinny. Luckily, most of your jeans/khakis had drawstrings because otherwise you wouldn't be able to wear them.

  • David, you are always talking, most of the time in 3-5 word sentences. You also use the word "I" correctly. I feel like so many times kids say "Me need..." but David says "I need..." So proud of your talking and vocabulary!
  • At school you were so determined that you were turning three. You kept saying "I three" any time anyone would ask you your age. In fact, Mommy almost made you cry two times when I kept telling you you were only going to be two. Now, however, you say "I two," but you hold up 5 fingers... Already our little Aggie! ;)

  • You are such a busy boy! You love anything boy-related, balls, trucks, noises, etc. It is so fun to see the difference between you and Elizabeth!
  • You've finally started going to school without crying! It makes my heart so happy to see you run into your classroom with a big grin on your face! You always loved school, but it's just that much better now that you go in happy!

  • Instead of smiling for pictures, you say "cheese." Sure is the cutest voice, but it makes it hard to get good smiles sometimes.
  • We still rock you to sleep, something I never thought I would do, but both Mommy and Daddy love the extra snuggles! And we know it will be over all too soon.

  • You still love to read and enjoy our routine of reading our Bible story and other books in Elizabeth's bed before going to sleep.
  • You definitely follow Elizabeth around and want to do everything she does. Good thing she's a good example to follow!

  • David, you have everyone that knows you wrapped around your little finger. Mommy, Daddy, and Elizabeth love you very much! We can't wait to see what God has in store for you in your next year!

On your actual birthday, we had a super fun day! We went to get pizza with Mrs. Meghan and Mallorie for lunch and then went to Chuy's for dinner (It was a special day for Mommy, too! I didn't have to cook at all!!!) After dinner, we came home for cupcakes and presents. Elizabeth got you  construction worker dress up clothes (so you would stop dressing up in her girly outfits!) and Mommy and Daddy got you some real cowboy boots. You love them, but they're still a bit big. At least you will be able to grow into them!!
