Pumpkin Patch 2013

This past weekend we went to Abilene to see Alan's parents. While we were there, we were able to go to a local pumpkin patch. The crazy thing is that I looked up pumpkin patches in Abilene, but hadn't said anything to Alan's mom. Two days later, she called to see if I wanted to take the kids to one and it turned out to be the exact same one that I had looked up. And of course I said yes!!

Not so sure about this hug...

Alan's parents also have this awesome tractor in their backyard that we took some pictures on for Elizabeth's first Thanksgiving. I was so excited that they still have it because I really liked how the pictures of Elizabeth turned out.

David's First Birthday

I thought I'd do a post with all the links of David's first birthday party for those who might have missed a post. :)

Our Little Chef

Saturday evening Alan grilled some yummy steaks for us to eat for dinner. We had my favorite potatoes, as well as asparagus for dinner. Elizabeth is such a big help in the kitchen, so we let her get the asparagus on the baking sheet so we could roast it in the oven. I was soo impressed with how well she did on it!

David's Party: Present Opening

David didn't get as "big" of a present as Miss Elizabeth did for her first birthday (see Elizabeth's Big Present), but he did have fun opening the presents he got! He knew just what to do and it was a blast watching him open them. Of course, big sister had to get in on the action and help him, but David didn't mind.

The only "family" picture we got...

And Miss E got a cool princess purse filled with
Cinderella and Prince Charming.

He loved playing with the paper. :)

David's Party: The Cake and Decorations

We got David's cake at Celebrations and Sweet Creations, just like we did for Elizabeth's first birthday. If you're looking for a cake place in the Magnolia area, I highly recommend them! Their cakes are the best! And for memories sake, I want to document that we forgot to get a candle for David's cake... Luckily we had a "4" candle that Alan cut down to make a "1." It wasn't perfect, but it definitely worked!

Miss E decided she needed a taste a couple hours
before the party started...
