16 months old!!

Elizabeth,

You are 16 months old today! I can't believe how fast you are growing and changing still. You're definitely more a toddler than a baby these days. I can't believe that in 3 1/2 months you're going to be the big sister! I know you'll love having a baby brother to dote on. Every time you're around younger kids you follow them around and try to love on them. Such a sweet big girl!

You've been very busy this month! (I'm sure some of this is from month 15, but that's ok!)

• You're new words are yea, no (while shaking your head), clock, and snack. You've started pointing to things and saying "that... You also say dog, Gracie, King, mama, dada, duck, quack, milk, car and I'm sure many, many more - I just can't think of them all off the top of my head.
• You're still in size 3 diapers (although I'm thinking of moving you to size 4 at night) and wear mainly 18 month clothes. However, if it's a two piece outfit, most of the time you're still in 12 months.
• You have finally started to eat fruit! You eat it best when you're not at home, but at least you'll eat bananas pretty consistently regardless of where you are!
• You're down to one nap a day. You go down between 12:30-1 and sleep at least an hour and a half. A lot of the time you'll wake up, but you're so quiet that I wouldn't know you were awake if I didn't have the video monitor. Most of the time I don't go get you until you start making noise.
• With going down to one nap, you definitely sleep in later! A majority of the days you sleep until 8, but you've been known to sleep until 9 if you've had a really busy day the day before!
• You travel really well, but don't sleep well unless you're at home! You have a hard time going to sleep and if you wake up, you're awake for quite a while.
• You got one of  your first molars (your upper left one) and the second one is days away from breaking through. Your left canine is also pretty close to coming in. The actual tooth tally is 7 teeth - 5 on top and 2 on bottom. We know you're teething because your poor little nose starts to run and your right eye waters like crazy! It's happened with every tooth lately.
• Your hair is long enough to clip a bow in! We have to keep them little so you'll leave it in, but you'll leave a clip in much better than a bow!
• You climb on EVERYTHING! You absolutely love to be on the couch. Most of the time you want to stand and jump on it, but we're working on teaching you that couches are for sitting.
• You got your first bloody owie this past weekend... You tripped over a toy at Great Granny's house and busted your gums. You were such a trooper and didn't cry for long!

Here are some pictures that we took this morning! Elizabeth, you did such a good job sitting down this time! You didn't try to get up at all! :) It definitely made taking pictures easy!
