David's First Birthday

I had to work on David's birthday, but we still made a point of taking him to dinner and then we came home to eat cupcakes afterwards. Normally, he eats anything and everything, but that night (we went to Olive Garden), all he ate was a breadstick and yogurt melts - he wouldn't even touch his pasta, which he loves! I guess he truly is a picky toddler now... ;)

Our Little Man is ONE!!

David Andrew,

I can't believe a full year has already come and gone! It seems like you've always been in our lives. We love you so much little man! You are growing and changing each and every day, and I look forward to seeing these changes! You bring so much light into our family and are such a happy baby. Your Daddy and I can't wait to see what all your second year brings!

We love you!
Mommy and Daddy

Weight: 20 pounds, 11 ounces

Length: 29.1 inches

Diaper size: Size 3

Teeth: Eight, although I think he's beginning to work on his one year molars - he's back to drooling, has a slight runny nose, and is waking up occasionally at night...

Clothes size: 12-18 months and 18 months!

Sleep: You've continued to sleep pretty well this month! On Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays you still take two naps a day, but on the other days you only take one. You're much happier with two naps, and go to sleep earlier when you don't get two,

Favorite activities/things: Crawling after your big sister, standing without holding things, walking, throwing a ball

Eating: You're down to nursing once a day, before bed, and you have actually started nursing better than you used to. You're also becoming a little more picky with eating, which really surprises me!

Nicknames: Little Man, Bubba, Buddy

Talking: You're first "real" word was ball about a week ago. You also say "uh oh," "yay," and the occasional "mama" and "dada." I think you're trying to say Gracie and King, and you will always try to mimic what I'm saying!

New adventures: Nothing new really happened this month. You're still enjoying going to school and love to play with your big sister!

New Skills: You are finally walking. You walk really well holding on to one of my fingers and consistently take 6-10 steps. However, you are much faster at crawling, so if you want to get somewhere quick, you crawl. You're also finally standing without holding onto things. You still need a bit of help to stand up, but once you're up, you definitely let go!

You were definitely a ham this go around! My big camera is still out of commission (I'll get it back Thursday!!), but I still think we managed to get some good pictures!

Phone Dump

Hopefully once I get my "good" camera back Thursday, I'll get back to taking some better pictures and posting regularly. Who am I kidding... Between working and kiddos, I seem to be having a difficult time sitting down at the computer to blog... Such is the life of a (part-time) working mom! :) I wouldn't have it any other way!

Here is a quick video of our Little Man walking!!! :)

Miss E is 2 1/2!

Elizabeth turned 2 1/2 on September 26! She is maturing so fast these days, and I think a lot of it is due to Mother's Day Out! She loves it and is always talking about going to "church." There is no way I could describe everything she's doing, but I'm going to try...

  • She talks... ALL THE TIME! She wakes up talking, goes to bed talking, and talks all throughout the day. She is starting to use some pretty big sentences and I love seeing how she is developing!
  • She is potty trained (for the most part). Every once in a while we still have accidents, but not very often. We're still wearing a pull-up for nap and night. Once we run out of the day time pull-ups, I'll probably try to do naps without them (she very rarely wakes up wet...), but I have a feeling we'll be wearing night time ones for a while.

  • She's about 34 1/2 inches tall and 26 pounds. I think David is going to out-weigh her before too long! :)
  • She is finally starting to sing some instead of just requesting us to sing. And she's memorizing books that we read pretty often.

  • She loves her brother... Most of the time... She is pretty affectionate with him, but take away one of her toys, and that's another story. We're still working on sharing.
  • Elizabeth still loves shoes- she'll wear multiple pairs in one day if we let her- and she is pretty good about getting them on the correct feet! She is also starting to enjoy dressing up!

Standing

David is finally getting the hang if just standing without holding onto stuff. Such a big boy!!

And we couldn't leave sweet Elizabeth out, of course! :)

David's First Taste of Cake

While we were in Texarkana at the beginning of October, we had a smash cake session with my Dad. He did a great job capturing some pictures of David and his cupcake. David didn't really seem to like his cupcake, so he definitely doesn't take after me or my side of the family... We LOOOVE sweets. :)

Waiting for a cupcake

And he sees it...

I love this one!

And this one...

Fascinated with the balloons

He'd rather play with the balloons...

This was as messy as he got!

Semi-Wordless Wednesday

Miss Elizabeth hasn't wanted to take her Doc McStuffins coat off since she got it yesterday... I think we need to get this child some more dress up clothes!!

And this Little Man won't sit still long enough to get a good picture these days.
