Christmas... Part 1

The weekend before Christmas we headed to Abilene to celebrate with Alan's parents, Granny (as Elizabeth has started calling Grammie) and PawPaw. We had a blast visiting and eating with them! We were only down for the weekend, so we made sure we lived it up!

Saturday morning we opened Christmas presents. Granny and PawPaw couldn't really wrap Alan's gift, so they had him put a beanie over his head to attempt to block him from seeing - too bad he could see straight through it! :)

David loved playing with all of the boxes! He'd just lift everything up and move them from place to place. Such a sweet little man!

The kids and our bounty! They had a blast and have already been asking about when we get to go back!

Chickfila

We had a book exchange with some friends last week at Chick-fil-a. I let David play in the play place for the first time, and he LOVED it!!! Elizabeth took a while to warm up to sliding when she was little, so I expected the same would be true of David... Not so much! He climbed up and then slid down on his belly. When he got to where he wouldn't slide, he just wiggled the rest of the way down. Super cute!!

David's One Year Pictures

I promise I'll get back to blogging regularly soon (or at least I hope I will), but it's been so crazy in our house between getting ready for the preschool program, making sure I had all of their Christmas stuff done, and doing ALL the Christmas shopping/wrapping in our family. I'm down to 4 presents left to wrap, and I'm planning on doing 2 of them tonight (the other two will arrive on Friday... I hope).

So we headed back to College Station the Saturday after Thanksgiving to take pictures with one of our favorite photographers, Natalie Blazei. We are so fortunate that she has family that lives near us and can use time when she is visiting to take our pictures! And of course she did a fabulous job!!

All of the pictures are my favorite, so it'll be picture overload, but I can't just pick one or two!

Our Little Man is 14 Months Old

What a difference a year makes!!! Gammie found the same outfit in 12-18 months, so I thought it would be fitting to do a comparison picture. David is such a little man!

Here are some things that you're doing this month David...
- You've learned to climb...
- ... and you climb on EVERYTHING!!!!!
- You've only taken a couple tumbles, but they haven't been bad, thank goodness!

- You're still eating really well (most of the time) and love your food!
- You love going to MDO and most of the time you don't cry when I leave these days.

- You still take two naps a day, unless we're out and about or at MDO.
- You wear 18 month clothes and size 4 diapers.
- I imagine you're around 22 pounds and 32-33 inches.

-  You are following simple commands and it's so fun to see how your brain works!
- I don't think you have many new words this month, but you definitely let us know what you think.

- When I get the camera out, you say "cheese" and give a goofy grin - too cute!
- You love the Christmas tree, which is why we don't have many ornaments on the bottom.

- You started somewhat using silverware this month and if you see a fork/spoon on your plate you have to have it!
- You are such a joy and I am soo blessed to be your Mommy!

Daddy and I love you to the moon and back!

Thanksgiving 2013

We went to Abilene to spend Thanksgiving with Alan's family this year! We got to see Alan's parents, grandfather, and his sister and their family. It was great to see everyone and we can't wait to see them again for Christmas!

Pictures with Santa!

We had pictures with Santa in Texarkana about a month ago and I absolutely loved how they turned out! We weren't able to do it last year, so I was thrilled when Alamond Photography did them again this year! I hope to make this a yearly tradition with our sweet family!

Elizabeth didn't like Santa in the beginning... She turned her whole body away from him. If I can't see him, he can't see me, right!? David wasn't too sure about that Santa guy either. As long as he was in mine or Alan's arms he was ok, but putting him in Santa's lap was a whole other story!

I'm saving my absolute favorite picture for Christmas cards, but here are a couple of my other top picks. =)

Santa can't see me, right!?
