Our Little Man is 7 Months Old!

David,

You are turning into such a sweet, little man! You love to snuggle with Mommy when you're sleepy, but when you're not, watch out world - you're on the go! You are a very chill baby and just go with the flow with whatever we do. It's been amazing seeing the similarities and differences from you and your big sister, whom you absolutely adore! I think she's you're favorite person - you could sit and smile at her all day long. It's so sweet and melts this mommy's heart.

I can't believe you're closer to a year old than my newborn now. David, you're growing and changing in new ways each and every day. Mommy and Daddy truly are enjoying every moment as you get bigger. We love you very much and can't wait to see how you develop in this next month.

Weight: 16.5 lbs by my scale

Length: Somewhere between 28-29 inches (which means you grew about 2ish inches in the last month... talk about growth spurt!)

Diaper size: Size 3

Teeth: Still just two!

Clothes size: 9 months, 6-9 months, and even some 12 months!

Sleep: We dropped the dream feed this month, and you wake up anytime between 4:45-7 to nurse. If it's earlier than 6:30, I try to put you back down, but most days you're not having that. So I just bring you to our bed and you play between Mommy and Daddy until Daddy has to get up for work and Mommy is ready to start her day

Favorite activities/things: Rolling over, sitting up, jumping in the jumper, watching Elizabeth, chewing on your hands or any toy, eating anything I feed you!

Eating: You nurse every 3-4 hours during the day! You also are already eating 3 meals a day! You start your day nursing around 6, eat breakfast around 7:30, nurse around 10, lunch between 11:30-12, nurse again around 1, nurse at 4, eat between 5:00-5:30, nurse at 6:45-7:15. You can not get enough "big people" food, too! I still have no idea where you're putting everything, because you typically eat between 8-12 ounces with EACH meal! You've got the best appetite and I love watching you eat. 

Nicknames: Little Man, Bubba, Buddy

Talking: You've become quite the talkative little man! You love making noise, and we love to hear it!

New adventures: You got to swim for the first time and loved it!

New Skills: You're slowly inching towards toys, but not quite crawling yet (this happened towards the very end of the month). You can sit up very well and definitely roll where you want to be

Picnic and Swinging

Pops had off on Monday, so we took that time to go to the park for a picnic and swinging. Both kiddos had a blast (and then went home and took stellar naps)! Elizabeth wanted nothing to do with anything else after we found the swings, which didn't surprise me one bit! Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures with me or Gammie in them, but I did get some good ones of the kids and Pops. :)

Lets Go Swinging...

It's no secret that Elizabeth loves to swing! And the higher the better! She's not content for you to push her from the front - it has to be the back (and she's constantly shouting "Higher, higher"). Miss E also doesn't like for me to stop pushing her to push David or go play with him for a minute... She'll say "back" until I'm at her back, pushing her again.

David loves being outside, but he'd rather chill on the ground or in a toy... So here are some of him. :)

And last but not least... Every now and then Elizabeth decides to brave the rock wall and climb into the fort. She's really quite good at it!

Baking with Mommy

Last week I went to Blue Baker for dinner and had a really yummy cookie - called Double Chocolate Oatmeal. It was your basic oatmeal chocolate chip cookie, but it had cocoa powder in the cookie, too.

I immediately went looking for a recipe and found one on allrecipes.com. Their Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies was what I found. So on Friday, Elizabeth and I set out to make them... I followed the recipe exactly (and made a double batch) and they were very good, but I'm going to make another double batch with some changes and I'll let you know how they turn out.

I think she liked them!!

Before David gets too much older, I figured I'd do a comparison of the two from their 6 month posts.

Elizabeth

At 6 months old Elizabeth:

• weighed 15 lbs, 1 oz
• I don't have her length, because I apparently didn't update it after her doctor's appointment...
• didn't have any teeth yet.
• was wearing 3-6 and 6 month clothes
• was sleeping from 7pm-6:30/8am, waking up once around 3-4am

David

At 6 months David:

• weighed 15 lbs, 4 oz
• was 26 inches long
• had his two bottom teeth
• was wearing 6-9, 9 month, and some 12 month clothes
• was going to bed around 6:30/7, getting a dreamfeed at 10, sleeping until 6ish, nursing, and then going back to sleep until 7-7:30ish

This week!

We've had a crazy fun and busy week so far! Two play dates and my parents visiting... All happened at a time I desperately needed it. When we were I. Houston, I was constantly on the go. Things have slowed down considerably now that we've moved. Good for the pocketbook, not so good on Mommy's sanity. Ha. I'm determined to get out of the house more, whether it's getting together with friends or walking around our neighborhood with the kids (why else would I have gotten a double jogger if I wasn't going to use it?).

Yet another week without many camera pics, but I'll leave you with a few phone pictures. I haven't taken any of D with the phone, but I did finally get a great picture of his teeth on my good camera. I'll have to post that next week (and I have a couple other posts I want to write, too!)
