Pumpkin Patch... Take One

Yesterday, Elizabeth and I went to the pumpkin patch with the girls (and their kids) in our Sunday School class. Once we got there, I started trying to take pictures of E, and this is what I got...

zoomed out...

zoomed in...

If I was taking pictures without zooming in, they were fine, but as soon as I started to zoom in, it all went downhill. My friends and I assumed that it was broken, which broke my heart. Luckily, Natalie is a photographer and she got several adorable pictures of Miss E!

Love those eyes!

Definitely a framer!

Another friends husband was at the pumpkin patch, too, and he generously volunteered (or his wife volunteered him) to take some pictures of Elizabeth. Nguyen also got some great pictures! Before we all headed to lunch, he looked at my camera and guess what... HE FIXED IT!!! I was sooo relieved! Apparently on the lens there is a switch that goes from manual focus to auto focus and somehow it got moved to manual. Who feels silly now... At least I know what to do if that happens again!

What is this ginormous
orange thing?

She loved standing up!

Playing with grass

Again... a BIG thanks to Natalie and and Nguyen for getting some amazing pictures of Elizabeth!

First word?

Now, I know Elizabeth won't actually be talking (or really knowing what she's saying) for a while, but I do think that she's at least getting the idea! She's used several different consonants for a couple weeks, but yesterday she really started using the "m" sound! I sure hope "mama" is her first word! ;)

New Trick!

So Miss Elizabeth has been scooting/rolling off the mat for a couple of weeks now, but yesterday, she was on a mission. She scooted herself (backwards... not forwards) to her swing then turned herself around... All in order to hit at it. So funny! I didn't have the camera until she actually made it to the swing and had turned around, but it was so cute to watch!

Before I turned off the flash...

And after the flash is off.

And just because I thought she was super cute... here are a couple more... Miss E definitely prefers sitting in the grass to her chair!

I see some grass!
Let me get some
Got it!!

Lazy dog...

So, for those that don't know, we have two crazy dogs! Despite having Elizabeth, they are still quite spoiled around this house... When we got them, both of us were working and I was gone a lot working on my master's, so we allowed them to sleep with us. And to this day, they still do... Well, lately, Gracie has decided that she doesn't want to get up at the crack of dawn with me, Elizabeth, and King. Most of the time, she'll go outside and then hightail it into the bathroom (where their beds are), but this morning, she was too tired to even bother getting up. When I went into our room to get ready for the day (at 9am), this is what I saw...

Can you say LAZY?

Well, the babe is getting fussy... Time to go play! :)

Cause and effect...

What happens when I hit Sophie...?

IT SQUEAKS!!

I was washing dishes early Monday morning, and I kept hearing the squeak of Sophie. It was a different squeak than the normal  "I'm gonna chew on your leg" squeak, so I peeked into the living room to see what was up... and proceeded to laugh and grab the camera. Elizabeth was hitting Sophie to make her make noise. The cutest thing EVER!

A look at our weekend...

We didn't do too much this weekend - just a relaxing weekend at home (minus the sleepless nights...).

Friday, Elizabeth and I just hung out at the house until Daddy came home with Alicia's Mexican food for dinner. Can you say yummy beef fajitas?!? I'd say that's one of his best ideas lately. ;) (He always has good ideas, but any excuse NOT to cook and then have a favorite meal is pretty high up there!)

Saturday, we ran to Hobby Lobby to pick up an early Christmas present. My grandparents knew that I wanted a mirror over our fireplace, so that's what I'm getting for Christmas this year! They didn't want us to have to worry about transporting it (plus didn't want it to break during transport), and they were on sale half off at Hobby Lobby, so Elizabeth, Alan and I went and picked one out! I love it. We also had some friends over for dinner Saturday night and I got to try out some new products, which I loved.

Sunday, we stayed home from church... We don't do that often, but Elizabeth hasn't been sleeping that well at night, so we were just exhausted. Alan and I slept as late as she let us, then headed to Lowe's to pick up the material needed to hang the mirror. After lunch, we headed to the outlet mall and Target in search of green leggings and long sleeved shirt for Elizabeth's Halloween costume... Let me tell you... they are NO WHERE to be found! I looked at Carter's, OshKosh B'Gosh, Target, and multiple places online (Walmart, Gymboree, KMart, Old Navy, GAP, etc). So disappointing! I've seen some, just didn't really like the prices that I saw... Oh well. We'll figure something out!

We also put Elizabeth in her walker for the first time. She kind of got the idea of walking, but then got way to side-tracked by all the cool toys to bother about walking. We're going to be in trouble soon - she's so close to being "mobile!"
